Kate TrukaBernal Yoga TeacherPhoto by Shelley EadesIn Chinese Medicine, Spring is Wood Element and the season of the Liver (& Gallbladder) which is deeply connected to our lymph (hello, Spring allergies!) and other detoxification systems. Just as the energy of the Wood Element flows up and out of the ground, the corresponding emotions du jour for the liver and gallbladder are anger and frustration. These workshops are perfectly timed in late Spring to offer the body into Summer with reduced internal dampness and inflammation.

Part I:  Sunday, May 1st 1:30-3:30 (Hatha Yoga & Lecture/Discussion)
Where are the liver and gallbladder channels? Which common yoga poses can be used to bring awareness to them? What is lymph and what does it have to do with yoga or allergies? Get all these questions answered and more. Part active Hatha Yoga Asana practice, part lecture with Agni-stoking tea, this class will equip you with easy take-home ideas for loving your Liver & Lymph on and off the mat.
Part II: Sunday, May 29th 1:30-3:30 (Restorative Yoga with Aroma Acupoint Therapy)
This two hour workshop will be exclusively restorative yoga (no movement or lecture) with special attention to the Liver and Gallbladder channels. Each student will receive hands-on topical application of essential oils specific to the Liver & Lymph on acupuncture points that are both individually tailored and specific to balancing the health of this important Spring detoxification system. Come rest, breathe and heal!
