If you have a yearning to create deeper connections with the people in your life (including yourself), this series is for you.

Using the teachings of Nonviolent Communication, we will explore what it’s like to “listen from the heart” while also making sure we speak truthfully so we have a better chance of getting heard from our spouse, partners, colleagues, and friends.

Whether you come to one evening, or all four, you’ll get a chance to learn new ways of communicating, practice them with other participants, have fun, make new friends, and leave with new skills you can use immediately.

No experience necessary and all are welcome.

Instructor — Leah Sheldon

Leah is Bernal Yoga’s Co-manager as well as a communication coach and educator. After Leah completed her 200-hr yoga teacher training, she began to study two of the Yoga Sutras — ahimsa (nonviolence) and satya (truth) — through the lens of Nonviolent Communication, based on the work of Marshall Rosenberg.

Besides ensuring Bernal Yoga is a wonderful place to practice yoga and movement, she currently works with individuals, groups, couples, and organizations so they can find more common ground and connection through compassionate communication. Leah is also on the teaching team of BayNVC’s Safer Communities Project, which teaches weekly communication classes to students currently incarcerated at San Quentin State Prison. If you have questions about this series, please contact Leah directly at [email protected].
