Making Peace with Your Body is a yoga workshop for anyone who find themselves battling with how they look, feel, and live within their bodies. The intention of the workshop is to set a healing environment that allows those who have never been on a diet, diet chronically or struggle with eating disorders to reside more comfortably and with more awareness within the walls of their body.
This three hour workshop will include: gentle asana, yin yoga, breathwork, guided meditation, yoga nidra, and writing. Through this gentle investigation we will forge new, more peaceful relationships with our bodies and share in community.
This workshop is open to and welcoming of all bodies and abilities, no yoga experience necessary.
Suzannah Neufeld, MFT is a licensed psychotherapist and certified yoga therapist who has specialized in treating people with eating disorders, body image, and food concerns for over a decade, in both private practice and residential settings. Her therapy work is rooted in evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches and mind-body practices.
On the yoga mat, Suzannah teaches a sweet, slow, and sometimes strong style of moving through poses with breath. She includes passive yin or restorative poses in every session. She believes deeply in supporting each person to listen mindfully and compassionately to their own body’s wisdom and to discover the unique alignment and form that give them the most space for growth. Each pose becomes an opportunity to make peace with one’s body. Suzannah seeks to provide an inclusive, noncompetitive environment that is welcoming of all bodies.
Suzannah has studied yoga therapy at the Niroga Institute with BK Bose, yin yoga and mindfulness with Sarah Powers, yoga nidra (Irest) with Richard Miller, and prenatal yoga with Jane Austin. Learn more about Suzannah at www.suzannahneufeld.com.
